I don’t know if you have ever had times in your life when there has been so much going on that you can’t quite put it into words until you are over the hurdle? I’ve been in that boat recently.
In broken pieces I’ve let you into what’s been going on in my life… but putting it all together has been a bit of stretch as there has been so much uncertainty. Well here goes…
Moving Home
Woop!! We are finally on moving day. As I type, the removal company are in our flat boxing and transporting. We decide to sell our flat, and it’s currently on the market. Whilst it’s in an awesome location, the yield just doesn’t stack up… so we will take the profit we’ve made and invest it elsewhere.
Where are we going to? Well this has been the crazy thing. Chris has been offered a job in New York, so we are officially going to be living across two continents. This has been the hardest thing to explain because I actually haven’t known how I’ve felt about it.
I’m still very much a UK citizen, I have 2 businesses here and a job. That’s not going to change.
The flight across the Atlantic is 7 hours, so we’ve made the decision to live in both countries.
Until we sell our flat in Putney we aren’t going to buy anywhere else in the UK but move into our other properties.
In the meantime we will also pick up a flat in Brooklyn, New York whereby Chris will be based with our pup Summer.
Once Putney is sold we will then be on the hunt for our next home in and around London. I’m in no rush until I find a good deal… so give it a few months!
NC Real Estate
Everything about NC Real Estate is staying exactly the same. The Members Club is still going strong, I’m excited for the guest experts that we’ve got over the next few weeks. I firmly believe it’s still the best place to get support as a Landlord & Property Investor and committed to continue to build it as the best online platform for the private rental sector. It’s my main priority and will always be that way.
In the interim period the business will be changing to a Cotswold address, that’s the only difference!
My Investment Companies
Of course, I’m still investing! Haha, you didn’t think I’d give that up? I love finding property investments. I’m excited to change my strategy to one that’s cross continents. My business partner is on the ground in the UK and will be going and doing the viewings, as usual I’m behind the strategy.
I’ll also be in the UK very regularly, so also on the road finding properties too. I’ll explain my strategy as I go.
Actually, we’ve just found a new investor and will be working on sustainability projects… watch this space as I am determined to build a property portfolio that can run itself without the need to always have a tenant.
Property Management
I still run a property management business. I now have staff members on the ground in the UK and will also be offering services in New York as well. If you need your property managed, then NC Real Estate can do just that, and I have the absolutely best in the business to run your properties.

University Lecturing
I’m still going to be lecturing! UCEM is an online University, it really doesn’t matter where I am in the world, I can still teach. My undergraduate and post graduate modules are definitely still running this semester and I am looking forward to another successful term.
Life
That’s it, that’s everything that is happening in my world. I’m very excited by it. I’ve been determined to build businesses that can be run from anywhere so that I can continue to build momentum but fit it around where Chris needs to be (it’s his dream to live in America, and never for one second would I ever stop him from doing that).
I’m also a firm believer that I can invest in the UK property market from wherever I am. I travel A LOT. My year has already been filled with Australia, America, South Africa, Europe and I keep my businesses running really successfully. I see no change apart from having two homes… which oh my goodness how amazing is that?!
I’ll always be a leading figure in the UK property market because that’s just how I roll, I’m interested in it, I believe it’s a fine investment and I’m passionate about making it a better space… After all it’s also my home. But it’s also important to keep a global perspective, so I’m excited to dive into the New York property market and gain an understanding.
Just be aware that usual hours for me will change to 11am-7pm UK time. And the Members Club, as usual will be later than that because I believe in fitting trainings / workshops / calls in times that suit you. That’s a global space too, I have clients from all over the world and I’m excited for that to build.
All in all, it’s very exciting times. Moving has been chaotic, but it had to be done. I’m looking forward to the future and what’s to come.
Phew, I’m also glad to get it all down on paper. It’s taken a while to get my head around it. But here I am, life is upscaling again.
