I’m sure you’ve all seen the debate around Russia influencing the US election…

Yet, is that really an anomaly? I don’t think so.

Big players will always look to influence elections to make sure they will get the result that suits them… after all, no one wants to lose billions simply because of a change of vote!

I saw this first hand on Monday at the World Build Environment Forum (which was a brilliant event!).

The last talk of the day was around where the best places to invest are in the World.

Inevitably the subject of Brexit came up… and whether this would influence whether the large institutional investors would invest in the UK.

The answer to that question… No.

Investors in the Middle East and Asia will continue to invest in the UK because Brexit wasn’t ending the demand for rental accommodation. So, in their eyes, nothing was changing.

HOWEVER- Should Jeremy Corbyn get voted to become PM, then yes, they would stop investing.

Why? Because the rent caps and other legislative changes he would bring in around the rental market would put a stop to their investment goals being achieved.

What do you think the effect of that announcement will have… and I’ve just passed that news onto you… how does that impact upon your next vote as a Landlord?

You see… anyone can influence the voting decision, simply by making sure they are committed to their strategy and then making sure you know how devastating it will be for you too!

Does this make you more wary of what you are being told? Or will you simply continue to do you? Comment below and let me know how this makes you feel!
