I believe that when you depart this world you will have changed the world at least a tiny little bit. Simply by your actions. Any action you take along the way will influence someone else, so you can’t help but have a knock-on effect. Your decision is how much you want to make a change… and that’s purely by taking part in exactly what you want to do.

I’m being reflective because it’s just been my birthday. I love my birthday, people get in contact with me from every corner of the world… I get to celebrate in any way I see fit and I get to plan the awesome things I am going to do with my coming year.

This year I had a four-day long birthday… I didn’t plan it like that, but hey I just gotta celebrate. Thursday, I went out for a big family meal in Bath, Friday my Dad and I organised my very first flying lesson (late afternoon), Saturday I spent the whole day completing my visualisation boards, celebrating the year to come and then Sunday (my actual birthday) my group of close friends and I went up the Heron Tower to Duck and Waffle (I really recommend this) and the Shard for some drinks before trudging home in the magic of the snow.

Looking back over the last 10 years, I’ve realised something incredibly profound. I’m no longer scared of life, I’m enticed by what it brings. When I finished school, I felt like I had to go to uni, get a career, buy a house, get married, have kids, do life.

I now feel more than ever that I actually get to design things the way I want.

Because life cannot be forced, it flows. You’ve got to jump on the opportunities and dismiss what doesn’t fit. If you decide you want to do something, go grab it with both hands, make a start, put yourself out there.

Why do I want to become a pilot? Because I’m scared of turbulence, but fly around the world multiple times a year… I’m ready to be over the fear and I’m ready for a new skill. So I started, booked flight one… and absolutely loved it, I can’t wait to do it again. Now I know how the air moves around the plane, I understand turbulence, fear gone… but I wouldn’t have known that unless I stepped out of my comfort zone.

What do you want to achieve? Why do you want to achieve it? And why are you waiting? Life is right here for the taking. I believe I can do anything I set my mind to. I never thought I would understand property the way I do now when I first stepped into my role as a grad… fast forward 8 years, I’m a pro, who’s incredibly well respected within my industry and can work a strategy to suit any requirement… I’m 29, I simply chose to step out the door and make it work. I can do that with anything else I set my mind to! And guess what, so can you!

Every day is a new start, I want this blog to remind you to get moving. Start now, get uncomfortable and strive to master your goals. It will come… just keep going, keep getting inquisitive and keep asking questions. It’s time to rise into who you want to be.

Share with me, in the comments section below, what is it you want to achieve and how are you going to start by getting there? I want to hear it and celebrate your success with you!!
