Yes that’s right, one of my jobs included Un-Choking the Fish.

Un-Choking the Fish

It’s a bit of a strange story to tell, I know. But I bet your interested? Well after a long day of content writing I went over to the fish bowl (as you do) to chat to Barney and Leelo (yu-huh those are my fish’s names). I notices that Barney was blowing a lot of bubbles, not really moving and had plant hanging out of his mouth.

My fish was choking!

After a bit of hesitation that I might pull his guts out, I thought it’s now or never. So, very gently I put my hand in the bowl and fished the excess plant out of his mouth. And then I watched. My slightly stunned and bewildered fish very slowly started getting his rhythm back.

I had saved him and I was ecstatic (we have such a better relationship now!).

But why are you telling us this I hear you ask?

Well because of all the struggles and the decisions that you have to make being an entrepreneur which can ruin or make your day. There is something so beautiful about being able to control your time. If I was at work, it’s possible that I wouldn’t have been around whilst he was struggling and he could have died. I would have been devastated.

I absolutely love being able to decide what goes on in my day. If I need to stop working because something comes up, I can and that’s fine. If I want to put in extra hours, then that’s also great, no one tells me what to do, because I’m on it.

I’m Grateful for Being an Entrepreneur

This event made me grateful for the path that I have chosen. It grounded me and made me see the whole benefits of my being an entrepreneur. It is actually very fulfilling.

Yes somedays its tough, but who else is going to be around to rescue my fish if I’m not?
