It’s a difficult choice to make – whether to furnish or un furnish your property.

Un-furnishing makes things so much simpler, whereas when you furnish the property any problems with the furniture and it’s always down to you to sort out.

As a general rule of thumb I always put in white goods and deal with the consequences of whatever goes wrong (a good Landlord’s insurance is ideal here and this can save hefty costs on call outs and repairs!).

However, whether to put other furnishings in depends entirely on the market.

If tenants in the area generally want furniture, then you should put it in otherwise it could make your property more difficult to let.

Search the market and see what everyone else is doing before advertising your property.

It’s up to you the quality of furniture that you use – but you should consider the type of tenant you are looking to attract.

If you have a high end property – expensive rent in a ‘posh’ area obviously you are going to be looking for better quality, well-designed items.

Luckily there are more and more furniture companies springing up which will help you pick out the right furniture for your property, and within your budget! Often they offer packages which work really well with difference letting types.

And you know the fun thing, often they send interior designers out free of charge! So you can plan to your heart content – where they send our furniture that you don’t like you can send it back, and yes they do assemble it all!
