If you didn’t know it, I’m moving home!! It’s come around so quickly… less than a month to go. So in an around working, my partner and I are getting ready to move…
Yes, that involves packing everything up and yes that’s an absolute annoyance because to get this property ready to market it has to look perfect… so no pesky boxes left around.
However, to conquer this challenge I’ve come up with 5 Life Hacks which has made moving so much easier!
- Use Micellar water (yup, makeup cleanser) to clean the walls… this trick works. If you are taking pictures down or moving anything that’s left a mark. Put micellar water on a clean cloth and wipe the wall in circular motions. Once dry, it looks as good as new!
- The Works do the cheapest and most prettiest storage boxes. 2 for £10… don’t mind if I do! And they fit under the bed.
- Want old furniture moved? Put it on Freecycle, explain the time you need your old furniture removed by and someone else who is in need will come and pick it up… yes even at 3:46pm on a Friday afternoon (after I’d placed the ad at 9:53pm the night before)
- Sell your old books and DVD’s on handy apps – Momox and Music Magpie are awesome from this. Download the app, scan your item, see how much they will give you. Agree the price. Pack it up. Send it off… within a week I have £140 in the bank!
- Ebay is your friend for the strangest things…. Old plug in telephones. Clocks. Strange sports memorabilia. You name it, someone else wants it. I have a one-week rule. If it isn’t sold within a week it goes to the charity shop. Clutter is gone so very quickly!!
Those 5 things have been pretty much daily life over the last few weeks. We’ve been making money through moving and clearing out all of our clutter it’s absolute bliss.
I now cannot wait to start again our new home!!
